Why the Cleveland School of Dance?... The Mission of Cleveland School of Dance is to educate its students by offering them quality dance training and intensive instruction in the highly structured and disciplined techniques of dance, ballet in particular, and its related arts. The training creates a refined sensitivity and developed appreciation for the unique art of classical ballet among the students of both the Community Ballet Division and the Professional Ballet divisions of Cleveland School of Dance.  

The Cleveland School of Dance is the direct "descendant" of the Cleveland Ballet School of Dance.  Many faculty members were dancers or otherwise associated with The Cleveland Ballet.  No other Cleveland ballet school can claim such a lineage from The Cleveland Ballet.

The Cleveland School of Dance Program... The well rounded curriculum taught by the Cleveland School of Dance's distinguished faculty, emphasizes classical ballet technique offering  students intensive training in structured and disciplined techniques for ballet students.

Our training creates a refined and developed appreciation for the art of classical ballet producing ballet artists of the highest caliber trained by ballet teachers of the highest caliber ... becoming capable of fulfilling the needs and demands of major professional dance companies.

Cleveland School of Dance ballet students follow a structured curriculum designed to develop their technical skills, stamina, vocabulary and discipline in agreement with their age and physical development. 

The curriculum includes: ballet technique, pointe, variations, contemporary dance, Spanish dance, caractere, music theory, body alignment and conditioning as well as modern dance and jazz.  Additional courses offered in nutrition, preventive injury, drama, dance and ballet history and yoga also compliment the Cleveland School of Dance curriculum.  As the student progresses, the curriculum further develops into more complex dance combinations concepts appropriate to each level of skill.

For those interested in the art or desiring a career in professional ballet, Cleveland School of Dance offers quality training and excellent exposure to classical ballet and dance.  Cleveland School of Dance Graduates have been placed in both local, national and international ballet and dance companies or have pursued collegiate arts study.  In all instances students enjoy the rewards of dedication, desire and discipline as they become successful young adults.
